Niemoc is a guitar-infused, instrumental, electronic three-piece from Zielona Góra (South-West Poland). To Western ears, their sound is similar to Battles, early Pivot, or even instrumental tracks of 80’s band Tom Tom Club. With warm, wispy sounds of Arthur Russell’s drum-machines, smooth sophisti-pop guitar licks, and classic 80’s dance basslines, Niemoc has a unique approach to sound. Members Filip, Michał, and Radek’s fascination with post-punk, and dreamy exotic electronics inspired them to refer to their sound as post-wave.
On the Łódź-based Brennnessel Records, the trio recently debuted their two-track release “Mikrofale” with a bonus remix by romantic techno group We Draw A. Niemoc debuts their dreamy, layered, lilting sound with their first video single for “Wyspy Chłodne” in a fun animation created by Sonia Skowronek.
